Brunch at the Garden Court in the Palace Hotel is quite an experience. Greeted by the classic, detailed, dark metal doors with gorgeous gold embellishments, opening into the grand entrance. You can easily see why this is my favorite San Francisco hotel, and top brunch spot!
In the past, I got to enjoy the Garden Court’s green tea and tempura battered chicken, which was dynamite! But today, I was here for one thing: the famous brunch buffet.
After spending a lazy morning up in our room, Mark and I wandered down stairs to experience the fancy brunch I always hear about. After a few steps into the restaurant, you could easily tell that the staff knows what excellence service looks like! Spotless.
Almost immediately after we were seated, I hopped up out of my chair and explored the buffet – not wasting a second! I grazed past the fruit, cheese and yogurt station picking up a few things here and there, of course taste testing as I went along. The prosciutto melted in my mouth! And I definitely appreciated the preserved ‘meat bouquet’ plate complete with edible flowers. Gorgeous!
Then I moved on to the pastry and cereal station (aka the carb corner). I almost didn’t want to grab a single item because the plates were so pretty! The desserts were all lightly dusted with powdered sugar, topped with fresh berries, and placed like artwork on the plate.
The hot buffet was stunning, with shiny little hot holders all lined up and filled with breakfast goodies. I was impressed with the broccolini and roasted cherry tomatoes, it was such a unique and delicious addition to the buffet.
As we wrapped up our brunch, we took one last look at the stunning grand entrance and intricate glass ceilings. We then headed down to the San Francisco Ferry Building to check out my favorite market.
